Girls Varsity Volleyball vs. Abington Heights High School

-Lady Raiders Soar Past the Comets to a 3-0 Victory- New Milford, Pa - The Lady Raiders Volleyball team opened up their regular seaosn Thursday night with a decisive 3-0 victory over visiting Abington. Set scores were: 25-7, 25-17, and 25-23. The Lady Raiders quickly went to work, dominating both the offensive and defensive side of the ball. The Lady Raiders never relinquished the lead until the third set. Foxlynn King, senior, led the offensive charge with 11 kills. The third set had the Lady Riaders and the Lady Comets neckc and neck for most of the set. The lead kept jumping back and forth between the two teams, neither seeming to jump ahead. Late in the third set the Lady Raiders continued to fight and at 23-23, the Lady Raiders pulled away with two aces by senior, Katelyn Spencer to clinch the set and match. Senior, Katelyn Spencer, and junior, Leigha McCain also came way with 9 and 4 kills respectively. Junior, Libby Zick also had quite a showing, coming away with 28 assists. Next Tuesday, the Lady Raiders will host North Pocono, JV starting at 5pm.
